The men's points race at the 2006 Dutch National Track Championships in Alkmaar took place at Sportpaleis Alkmaar on December 28, 2006. 22 athletes participated in the contest. Bobbie Traksel
Bobbie Traksel (born 3 November 1981 in Tiel) is a Dutch former professional racing cyclist. In 2000, Traksel showed considerable promise by winning the Under-23 version of the Tour of Flanders and turned professional in 2001 with . In 2002, Traksel's surprise win at the Veenendaal–Veenendaal showed his speed and bicycle smarts. But Traksel's achievements in 2008, highlighted by winning the Driedaagse van West-Vlaanderen garnered him wider respect in the cycling community. Sportpaleis Alkmaar
The Sportpaleis Alkmaar is a velodrome and multisport indoor arena in Alkmaar, the Netherlands. The original velodrome, which was built in 1964 and made of concrete, was renovated in 2003. The concrete track was replaced by a wooden track and was now situated in a completely covered hall. The cycling track is in length and in width. The maximum slope is 42°.
